In a study published in the Journal of Urology (jurology.com), August 2010 edition, Steven Jacobson and associates report on a 16 year study evaluating on the correlation between the use of statin drugs and prostate health. The results show a decreased risk of elevated PSA, decreased risk of prostate biopsy, and decreased risk of being diagnosed with high grade prostate cancer.
Multiple studies are showing similar results, and statins have become a promising class of agents for the prevention of prostate cancer.
